You can track your delicious meal in real time.
As soon as our teams leave and are on the way to you, you'll be able to see a map with real time tracking! You'll be able to view estimated arrival time and the destination, in order to make sure we are heading the right way!
Do I have to provide my own leftover containers?
Yes, we recommend getting ready some plastic or aluminium containers, there will be a significant amount of leftovers
What kind of events to you cater for?
Here at Pig and a Half we will cater for any party or event you wish us to cater for. No matter how big or small the party is, we are here to make it memorable and special. If catering is what you wish to get, that is exactly what you will receive!
Do you provide Eco friendly cutlery and crockery?
Absolutely! Keeping our environment safe is a huge obligation! By having Eco friendly assortment available we're doing our part as best as we can!
How will the catering service look?
We will come approximately an hour before serving time in order to get everything ready. During serving time our waiters and chefs will provide your guests with food and afterwards we clean our mess, pack up and get out of your hair!
Do you use any protection under the hog machine to avoid spoilage?
If it is required we will provide a protective mat. We catered for many places like Blenheim palace and we are experienced in safe catering.
What if more guests show up?
If there's food left they are more than welcome to take a bite!
Can I sample some food to help me choose?
Yes of course. We would be delighted to bring you a selection of Cold Food to try in advance of your event. We would pass on a small charge for this of £90+VAT to cover time and ingredients with your final invoice.
Can I give you a deposit?
Yes please. We require a deposit of £150.00. Once this is paid then the date is secured for you. Full balance is not due until 2 weeks prior to the event date.
How long does a pig take to cook?
Our Hogs are cooked slowly for approximately 10 hours. It's done this way in order to achieve the best taste and texture of meat possible.
What size are your hog roasters?
Our machinery is perfect to fit in any size Hogs inside. They are narrow which means they will be easy to transport through doors or garden gates. They are approximately 1.5 meters long and 0.7 meters wide.
What happens if a guest has a food allergy or food intolerance?
We kindly ask you to state clearly what allergies are going to be present at your party. With all the information needed, we will prevent any kind of problems from our end as keeping customers safe and happy is our biggest priority. We provide for many dietary requirements and will take no responsibility for any complications if no statement of an allergy was made prior to our service.
What happens if it’s raining?
No need to worry about rain or the heat of the sun! We have gazebos which provide shelter for the hungry guests and the delicious food of course!
How much space do you need?
An ideal space would be 4m x 4m, but we can cope with a minimum of a 3m x 3m space. We require one free of charge parking space for our large van.
Are the machines easy to use?
Of course! We use the best machinery on the market, not only does it provide an amazing quality, but it is very easy to use! Though make sure not to touch it, the surfaces get very hot!
Are you qualified and insured?
The answer is yes. All of our staff have the relevant Health & Hygiene certificates. We’re registered with our local council. We have employee and public liability insurance. Read more about us ...
Do you provide a site visit prior to the function?
For larger events or parties that requires more planning, we usually advise that to happen mainly to make sure everything runs smoothly with no complications and we are as prepared as we can be.
Do you provide cutlery and crockery?
Yes we provide cutlery and crockery. The wooden cutlery and disposable plates are included in the price of every catering package. If you are composing your own menu you will have to add them to your cart.
What happens to any leftover food?
If you choose to keep leftovers you are more than welcome to! It makes the perfect after party snack for when guests become hungry again. If you do not wish to keep the leftovers we will clean everything up and leave you with no mess.
Can you serve the hog indoors or out?
We can cater in both cases! Indoor and outdoor. Indoor catering is only possible upon making sure all of our equipment doesn't compromise the safety or the comfort at your event. Browse our catering gallery.
How long do you serve for?
We usually serve for an hour, but for an extra charge, we are more than happy to serve for a longer period of time. Required serving time you can choose on the cart page
Where do your pigs come from?
All of our pigs are sourced from Cirencester farm.
What staff do you provide for my event?
We use waiters or waitresses for some of our menu options along with our fully qualified chef, who always serves in chef whites. Also we provide family style serving as a stress free solution.
Can you provide a Hog for any event in any season?
Of course we can! The seasons have nothing on us! We can provide for your party / event, whether it's in winter or summer no matter how big or small!
Do you have options for vegetarians?
We do! We could never leave out our vegetarian pals! If vegetarian food is a requirement of your party, just have a look on our Vegetarian menu.
